How do you clean and examine my smile?
When you first arrive at the Henslee Dental Team office for a teeth cleaning and dental exam, you will be seated by one of our friendly and knowledgeable dental hygienists and staff. Following the initial health status questions, our hygienist will remove any buildup of plaque and tartar that may be sitting on the surface of your gums and teeth. This will help to prevent the bacteria from hardening and leading to cavities and other oral health problems.
Shortly afterwards, the surface of each individual tooth will be smoothed to ensure that bacteria cannot hide in hard to reach areas.
The process is then completed with a floss and polishing regimen, so that your smile can be inspected by either Dr. Henslee or Dr. Hafen. Younger patients may need to have their teeth sealed with a dental sealant.
